inaugural style.

January 24, 2013

Whether or not you voted for the man that was sworn in on Monday, you have to admit…there was some serious style displayed at this shindig.

Let’s start with the FLOTUS:

MichelleO 1

Michelle Obama started out the inauguration morning in a Thom Browne coat & dove grey pumps.

But as colder weather rolled in with the afternoon, she made a couple of wardrobe adjustments; complete with a pair of tall, Reed Krakoff boots, a jeweled J.Crew belt to cinch the waist, some purple J.Crew gloves, & a lazy eye to top it off!

That belt (which, after some research, I found out was a sash from a dress that she had turned into a belt) + that coat…swoon.

Andddd for the Inaugural Ball, Jason Wu does it again!

I think this velvet embossed, ruby gown is a jaw dropper…in a good way, of course.

It’s so flattering on her & completely age appropriate — topping it off with a pair of red Jimmy Choo heels.

Now for the controversial subject of the day — Lady O’s bangs?

Awesome? Atrocious?

I think I’m Switzerland neutral when it comes to them.

the supremes bangs

I think they remind me of Diana Ross circa 1960’s…a little bit.

Maybe.

Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush, who’s bangs I am not Switzerland about (I think they’re dreadful), attended the Women in Washington Brunch celebrating the inauguration in a vintage look.

She should just go ahead & hand the clutch over to me NOW.

Apparently, she & Barry O’s other half had quite the moment over their new face curtains at the brunch.

Obamatots

Now on to the Obamatots…in J.Crew & Kate Spade coats.

I’ll take one of each, thanks.

Katy Perry & John Mayer

Seriously? How cute are John Mayer & Katy Perry?

Her textured coat is so fun!

The real stunner of the day was none other than Bey.

But, really.

Her hair, that dress, those nails, the ear bobs…the eyeliner, for crying out loud…it was all perfection.

But, if we’re being honest, I’d expect nothing less.

And, in case you didn’t notice, that’s Pantone’s 2013 Color of the year on her ear.

The coat, the ring…shall I go on?

Flawless on all counts.

Unless you happen to be offended by her lip-syncing the National Anthem?

It’s too bad (I actually don’t really care) she didn’t go for the live performance powerhouse Kelly Clarkson delivered.

She really raised the roof, proverbially speaking.

Kelly Clarkson

It’s also too bad Kelly doesn’t have the same stylist & hairdresser as Beyoncé.

Oh & then there’s ole Bill…just’a creepin’.

Old habits die hard.

That’s all I’ve got for today — it’s almost the weekend people!
